The global provider leads the workplace revolution by creating flexible office space dedicated to female entrepreneurship in São Paulo
IWG has opened its first ever co-working space centred on empowering female entrepreneurs and female-centric companies in São Paulo.
Set in the heart of the city’s commercial area, Spaces Berrini has easy access to public transport, fully equipped workspaces, spacious meeting rooms, high-speed WiFi, an outdoor terrace, and a business club primed for networking.
The location is also home to “Spaces by Fabiana Scaranzi”, the world’s first ever co-working platform for female entrepreneurs, small businesses, brands and projects aimed at a female audience.
The platform was the brainchild of Tiago Alves, Spaces’ CEO in Brazil, and journalist, businesswoman and behaviour specialist Fabiana Scaranzi, both of whom sought advice from the co-working community before rolling out their idea.
"Our main focus is to create a work environment in which women feel comfortable to act spontaneously and genuinely,” explains Scaranzi. “I really want these women to feel confident, informed, welcomed and confident to create, connect and generate opportunities.”
“Men are certainly welcome,” clarifies Alves. “We do not want to create an exclusive space for women because it goes against the principle of co-working, which is providing a place for all. But it does place female entrepreneurship at the forefront of conversations and events.”
“Spaces by Fabiana Scaranzi” hosts networking events, workshops and lectures aimed at female business owners, alongside discounts on partner products, gym classes, massage treatments and more. Scaranzi will curate these events and promote the development of a community of women who support one another.
The female-centric co-working space hopes to attract business leaders, with São Paulo leading as one of South America’s main economies, with almost 80% of the region’s female entrepreneurs located in the city, according to Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service Sebrae.
