The world of flexible work comes to new locations in January 2021

January 2021 has seen the opening of 13 new centres under the IWG operating brands, Spaces, Regus and Signature by Regus, in locations as diverse as Prague, Auckland and Rio de Janeiro

In Brazil, customers can now join the thriving business community in Rio de Janeiro’s world-famous neighbourhood by basing their operations at Spaces Ipanema. The centre opening has increased IWG’s footprint in the city to a total of 17 locations including two under the Spaces brand.

The new Spaces building, set over 10 floors in Rio de Janeiro’s most sought after location was formerly operated by WeWork and will house leading businesses, entrepreneurs, freelancers and freethinkers.

The opening of Spaces Ipanema further strengthens IWG's leadership in the coworking market in Brazil. It has successfully operated in the market for more than 25 years and has more than 70 locations across the country. It enjoys an enviable location, located at Avenida Visconde de Pirajá, 495, just 500 metres from the world-famous Ipanema beach. The first Spaces in Rio de Janeiro was opened in Cinelândia, at Teatro Riachuelo, in July 2018.

Tiago Alves, CEO of IWG in Brazil said, “We are actively looking to expand our presence in Brazil in response to growing demand. In the last six months alone, demand has increased by almost a third nationally, as businesses respond to Covid-19 and rethink their real estate strategy, turning to flexible workspaces during these economically challenging times”.
